a few days ago a new technique join the wire crochet ISK world, It received the name SLT which stands for Skipping Loops Technique, those of you fluent in the ISK language can probably guess where it is going and its potential.
For years I have been talking with you about how important the spaces between the loops are , just as important as the stitches, sometimes more important. for example in one of the most basic beginners wire crochet design, the YoolaCuff pattern or the Cleopatra necklace pattern, actually in any design that involves folding and flattening, the spaces between the stitches create the edges, so if the spaces are nice and even, the edge will be pretty, if not and it is very dense it might result in stiff edges.
One of the first models of the heart looms was missing a hole in the top center, and I was wondering weather to add one or not, the red heart below is the one I made without the center hole, the first hint of what will become something more prominent in the STRINGS collection, the SLT!
I'm only just at the beginning of discovering its full potential, it can be implemented in as a delicate little detail like in the heart, or let it lead your wire crochet world into a whole different place, like the examples below.
I'm plan on publishing the STIRNGS collection pattern, it depends on the number of clients interested in learning it.
